GALACTIC LEGACY: A STAR WARS D6 RPG STORY - EPISODE I: THE BEGINNING (PART 2)

Brandon Choe looked across the table at Captain Bey.

"The credit value alone for those chemicals in standard distributions would be around ..." Choe paused as the mathematical processing ticked off in his head. "... Around one hundred million credits. Standard distribution sizes equate to the size of an ammo canister or an ammo crate. Are we talking more than standard size and by how much more?"

Captain Bey checked some information on his datapad.

"The amounts of each are enough doses for treatment of 5 thousand patients. Figure about 250 kilograms of each, about twice as much as a standard distro. That's not a lot of mass, but it IS a lot of money. Your estimate is pretty good. Imperial Navy Medical Command puts the total value at 250 million, but the insurance company is only going to pay 200 million to cover the loss. I believe Core Worlds Underwriters is a subsidiary of Freewater Investments, Mr. Choe. Perhaps you could put in a good word with them for MedCom? A good word worth, say... 50 million credits?

"We will find out if a write off of 50 million is warranted," the banker/operative responded. "In the meantime, were the medical supplies all being shipped in one vessel to one location or multiple vessels to multiple locations?"

"Multiple vessels to multiple locations, and not every ship was carrying the same cargo. All of the destinations were MedCom Fleet Hospitals in the Outer Rim Territories."

"Should I requisition those details from MedCom myself or are they already available?"

"You can take it up with MedCom. I'm needed on the bridge. Moff Yage wants to discuss some matters."
At the mention of a Moff and the Imperials, Choe visibly bristled and looked for somewhere else to be. Bey nodded to the assembled SPECTRUM operatives, and then made his way out.

Lott knew that the Masters hadn't had much time to review the Archives since taking them over. They knew that Darth Plagues was very interested in researching the extension of life and the creation of artificial life. Vul Isen was an expert in applied toxicology, applied virology, and biological warfare.

'No wonder Captain Bey said they are linked' the Twi'lek Jedi thought to himself. Smugglers and thieves would be the perfect people to check these type of things. Lott made a mental note to himself to check out some old contacts when in the Outer Rim.

Jhok, seeing the Captain getting up to leave, went over to him on his way out, bowed and made the Ewok gesture of 'friends'. Surprisingly, the Ewok gesture of 'friends' is quite similar the the Weequay gesture of 'this tastes bad'. Captain Bey nodded to the Ewok deep-cover operative.

"This leaves a bad taste in my mouth, too," the captain said. "Keep an eye on that Jedi... Lortt? Litt? Lott? I respect the Jedi... I just don't necessarily trust them all."

As the briefing room emptied, Lott moved next to Tikkit the Jawa. "Buddy. What do you make out of this?"
Mykar started making his way back to the Shady Lady so that he could update R4-K17. Just outside the door the blonde woman who seemed to be the leader of Skull Squadron stepped in front of him. She ran her eye up and down, giving the young man a quick appraisal.

"Roshenk, right? They say you're a pretty good pilot. I've got friends in some of those Outer Rim hospitals. Brothers and sisters who need that medicine for their treatments. You do what you have to to crack this mystery? Don't let that Denta bean counter the banks stuck us with decide that it's not worth to cost to save those people, understood?"

A little further into the hangar, the woman Brandon knew to be Anj Dahl, leader of Rogue Squadron, caught his attention.

"Agent Choe, I just wanted to thank you for the help Freewater Investments has given the Alliance. Financing the acquisition of spare parts and supplies has kept Rogue Squadron flying. Without your help, I'm not sure how long the Galactic Alliance fleet would have remained in the fight. If there's anything I or any of my people can do to help your investigation, just let me know."
